SOARS is a community: a diverse group of students and mentors who learn together.
SOARS protégés form professional and personal relationships, and learn the leadership and communication skills to keep those relationships strong.
The SOARS community is diverse; many of our protégés come from environments where they are the only one like them, and SOARS is a welcome change.
SOARS protégés are encouraged to grow not only as researchers, but as scientific leaders who can see science as an opportunity to contribute to a better world. In addition to research, SOARS protégés have the opportunities to explore education, policy, and leadership.
